Approach and Background
Approach
I offer short- and long- term counselling to adults (18+). As an integrative therapist I draw on a range of theories and models, where the emphasis is on the quality of the relationship with self and others. It often emerges that clients have parts of themselves which have been created out of adverse childhood experiences, with patterns of behaviour embedded into repetitive relational difficulties in the here and now. I help you to explore how these patterns, such as being overly self-critical or hypervigilant, might be impacting your life. Together we explore what change might look like and how to get to where you want to be, both within yourself and in your relationships with others.
Helping you through tough times often involves fostering your resilience, enhancing self-esteem and strengthening your capacity for self-compassion. I also embrace some empowering and compassionate insights derived from neuroscience. Blending concepts which can help to elucidate brain-body connection alongside talking therapy is often welcomed by clients who find it difficult to open up, feel stuck, or simply feel that talking alone is not enough.
Background
I have an MSc in Psychotherapy & Counselling from Warwick University and an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from Kings College, London. As such, my interest and curiosity in therapeutic work stems largely from a keenness to explore the meanings people make from their experiences, as well as focusing on how different perspectives can bring about new insight and change. For me, the meaning we make from our experiences has the empowering capacity to help us heal and grow, whilst making the changes we want to see in our lives may be supported by exploring ideas which enable us to see things differently, to foster hope, motivation and self-compassion.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
